KC is a graduate of the University of Colorado where he majored in History, Philosophy and Art. He is a 20 year veteran of the United States Army, serving over 15 years with the Army's elite Special Forces. More than half of his life was spent serving his country, but he always missed woodworking, and often purchased pieces of exotic woods while in foreign lands.

In 1999 he moved to Maryland and formed Affinity. Affinity is classically defined as an attraction to or liking for something, and this name proved to be a fitting description for the enjoyment KC receives from woodworking and from his successful pursuit of natural resource preservation. As time progressed, KC found he was doing something unique compared to the traditional tables and desks of most craftsmen--something that was more of an art form than just a time-honored trade.

Working from his shop in Northern Maryland, KC produces every unique piece by hand, one at a time. Through his art, he works to preserve the history and majesty of each tree he recovers naturally. These tables and desks are not only one of a kind, but the finishes, embellishments and bases are also custom designed to tell a more complete history of the owner.
