leaf house - at the University of Maryland
Skip navigation to main content.Participation in national and international competitions has long been an Architecture Program tradition. By the mid 90‘s, students in the Architecture Program had won more ACSA competitions than any two schools combined. Interdisciplinary efforts in which students, faculty members, and professional colleagues worked collaboratively have resulted in such successes as the School’s 3rd place win in the Western Maryland Welcome Center, its Finalist standing in the Kingman Island Environmental Education Center and the University’s notable participation in the 2002 and 2005 Solar Decathlons, a very special kind of competition in which a project is actually assembled on the national Mall. We will continue the University’s participation in the Solar Decathlon enterprise for the 2007 event.
